Operators, clinicians, and inventors
The people building Avano have shipped neuromodulation devices, run the trials behind them, and prosecuted the patents that protect them.
Armani Porter
Founder, General Partner and President
Armani Porter founded Avano Capital in January 2024 to build the infrastructure that targeted neuromodulation still lacks: the clinics, the imaging, and the intellectual property that connect a proven therapy to the patients who need it. Armani leads the firm from San Francisco.
Before Avano, Armani rose from Intellectual Property Associate to Senior Intellectual Property Manager at Magnus Medical, the medical device company treating depression with transcranial magnetic stimulation. Armani is a named inventor on five neuromodulation patents and has led patent and trademark prosecution across nine jurisdictions.
Earlier work includes operations at Rymedi, co-founding DNA Bridge, trademark and licensing at the University of Notre Dame, and teaching Ethical and Legal Issues in Analytics at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business. Armani studied at the University of Pennsylvania.
An advisory bench across the whole pathway
Advisers are drawn from neuromodulation device manufacturers, regulatory and reimbursement practice, global pharmaceutical research, and defence.
Avano will advance the global practice of medicine
We work with limited partners, clinical institutions, and neurotechnology founders building toward the same thing. If that is you, we would like to hear from you.
